How to select the right plan based on your monthly line item volume

Overview

DoPricer CPQ pricing is based on the number of new line items processed each month — not per-user seats. There is one edition of DoPricer and all features are included on every plan. The only variable is your monthly line item volume.

Key principle: Each plan includes a monthly line item allowance. If you exceed it, you pay $0.05 per additional item — or you can upgrade to the next tier for better value.


 

Understanding Line Items

A line item is created each time a product is added to a Deal or Quote in HubSpot. For example:

  • Adding 5 products to a single quote = 5 line items
  • Creating 10 quotes with 3 products each = 30 line items

Note: Every new line item created in your portal counts toward your monthly total — including line items on Deals, Quotes, and any other HubSpot objects such as Orders or Invoices. Updating an existing line item does not count.

Tip: Track your usage by creating a HubSpot report showing line items created per month. Go to Reports → Create Report → Single Object → Line Items, add "Count of Line Items" and "Create Date", filter by last 12 months, and group by month.

All plans include a 14-day free trial. The 2K plan is the entry-level plan available directly on the HubSpot Marketplace.

Overage Charges

If you exceed your plan's monthly allowance, an overage charge of $0.05 per additional line item is applied at the end of the month.

Example: On the 2K plan, you create 2,400 line items in a month:

  • Overage = 400 × $0.05 = $20
  • Total for the month = $89 + $20 = $109

Overage is invoiced separately from your monthly plan fee.


 

When to Upgrade

Upgrading saves money once your volume consistently exceeds the breakeven point for your current plan. The table below shows exactly when that is.

Worked Examples

Example 1: 2,800 line items/month

  • Stay on 2K: $89 + (800 × $0.05) = $129/month
  • Upgrade to 4K: $149/month
  • Stay on 2K — breakeven is at 3,200 items

Example 2: 3,500 line items/month

  • Stay on 2K: $89 + (1,500 × $0.05) = $164/month
  • Upgrade to 4K: $149/month
  • Upgrade to 4K — saves $15/month

Example 3: 7,000 line items/month

  • Stay on 4K: $149 + (3,000 × $0.05) = $299/month
  • Upgrade to 8K: $249/month
  • Upgrade to 8K — saves $50/month

Estimating Your Volume

Use this formula to estimate your monthly line item count before you start:

Examples:

  • 80 quotes/month × 6 products = 480 line items → 2K plan
  • 150 quotes/month × 8 products = 1,200 line items → 2K plan
  • 400 quotes/month × 10 products = 4,000 line items → 4K plan

 

Planning for Growth

Consider upgrading proactively if you are:

  • Launching a new product line
  • Expanding your sales team
  • Running a promotional campaign
  • Entering a seasonal peak period

It's better to be on the right tier before volume spikes than to accumulate overage charges after the fact.


 

Bulk Imports ⚠️

If you plan to import a large number of line items at once — for example, from an ERP system — turn OFF the DoPricer Master Switch before importing. When the Master Switch is OFF, DoPricer discards incoming webhooks and those line items do not count toward your monthly usage. Turn it back ON once the import is complete.

Importing with the Master Switch ON can cause a significant and unexpected increase in your monthly line item count.

Q: Is there a free trial? A: Yes — DoPricer includes a 14-day free trial with full access to all features.

Q: Which features are included on my plan? A: All features are included on every plan — per-product discounts, category discounts, custom price lists, multi-currency support, and Quote support. There are no feature-gated tiers.
