Does DoPricer Support Tiered, Volume, or Staircase Pricing?

DoPricer applies a single flat price per product per currency. It does not currently evaluate HubSpot's native tiered pricing models — Volume, Stairstep, or Graduated — when processing Line Items.

HubSpot Commerce Hub supports four product pricing models: Flat, Volume, Stairstep, and Graduated. DoPricer handles Flat pricing natively. For the other three models, the position is as follows.

Volume pricing — workaround available

Volume pricing applies a single unit price based on the quantity ordered. For example: £100 per unit for 1–9 units, £90 per unit for 10–24 units, £80 per unit for 25 or more units.

DoPricer does not evaluate HubSpot's native volume tier data when processing a Line Item. The recommended workaround is to create a separate product in the HubSpot product library for each pricing tier. The sales rep selects the product that matches the quantity being quoted.

Example product setup:

Product Description Unit price
ABC123-Q1 Product ABC123 (1+ units) £100.00
ABC123-Q10 Product ABC123 (10+ units) £90.00
ABC123-Q25 Product ABC123 (25+ units) £80.00

The sales rep selects ABC123-Q25 and enters the quantity. DoPricer applies the correct flat price for that tier. This workaround is fully compatible with DoPricer and Commerce Hub today.

Stairstep pricing — workaround available

Stairstep pricing charges a fixed price for a defined quantity bundle. For example: £450 for a bundle of 5, £2,000 for a bundle of 25, £3,500 for a bundle of 50.

The recommended workaround is to create a separate product for each bundle step. Each product represents one complete bundle at its fixed price, with a Line Item quantity of 1.

Example product setup:

Product Description Price Qty
ABC123-B5 Product ABC123 (bundle of 5) £450.00 1
ABC123-B25 Product ABC123 (bundle of 25) £2,000.00 1
ABC123-B50 Product ABC123 (bundle of 50) £3,500.00 1

The sales rep selects the bundle product that matches the customer's requirement. DoPricer applies the bundle price correctly. This is a clean fit for stairstep pricing because each bundle is a defined, fixed quantity — there are no in-between quantities to manage.

Graduated pricing — contact HubDo

Graduated pricing calculates a total by applying different unit prices to successive quantity bands. For example: the first 9 units at £100, the next 15 units at £85, and so on.

This model is designed for consumption-based billing where the final quantity is not known at the time of quoting — for example, SaaS seat licensing, API call pricing, or data usage billed in arrears. It does not map naturally to a sales quoting workflow.

What about native tiered pricing support in DoPricer?

Native support for HubSpot's tiered pricing models is under consideration as DoPricer aligns with the Commerce Hub data model. It is not on a confirmed roadmap at this time.

If tiered pricing support is important to your business, book a chat with Pete to discuss your requirements.
